How many of you own a Nintendo Switch? If you do, do you play it a lot. Most people own some sort of Xbox and Playstation but I want to know who owns a Nintendo Switch. They are doing amazing on sales I have heard. I had one for years but recently got rid of it. I still have the account for my switch with around 30 triple A titles that I plan to keep it put back on it if I ever get it again. I was low on cash and sold it to gamestop but intend to buy one again eventually.

So do you own one? Also what's your favorite game for it?

Currently, no. Although I have been impressed by its sales figures, and a number of my friends who have one have recommended it.

..it's also quite a capable little emulator box, by all accounts :pirate:

@Oblivion Knight so many people get banned for trying that on the switch. I heard stories on YouTube about it. But regardless it's a blast to play some of the games that are out for it. Super Mario Odyssey was great and there's a new one called Mario 3D Bowsers Fury.

That's the main problem with modifying modern consoles.. :disgusted:

Although if I'm not too bothered about playing online, then maybe.. but I can imagine Mario Kart online would be a blast.. dammit!

Mario Kart is awesome. I highly recommend it.

My oldest daughter is right in to Animal Crossing too... It is definitely a console for the whole family.

I would recommend.

I've got a Switch but honestly nobody in my family would be super into Nintendo games outside of Zelda which is a family favorite, and pretty much the sole reason why we get Nintendo consoles at all.
That said, I don't think it's a bad system overall... It's had it's issues but for what it is it's not bad. I'm glad motion controls are less emphasized with it compared to something like the Wii. Only thing I can really think of that is has is Gyro which isn't too annoying to play with, in moderation.

I have a Switch, and I got it pretty early in its life cycle.. I think it's an amazing platform. It really saved Nintendo and made them more relevant so I'm happy about owning one.

I mainly use it for games I can play in short bursts like The Binding of Isaac or Stardew Valley.

There's a multitude of games available for it, even stuff like The Witcher 3 and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus - albeit with graphical caveats.. But the fact that those kinds of games are being pushed to a handheld platform is insane.

Overall the best game on Switch is Breath of the Wild, hands down. Its not even a Switch game per-se (the game launched on Wii U also) but it's definitely the landmark title.

Not at the moment. We wanted to get one but the JoyCon drift issues put us off from purchasing a Switch Lite. I already had a PS4 controller have the same issue and it's not a fun issue to suffer with.

I've had a Switch since launch and I've gone through a few JoyCon sets. I've not had any drifting issues but I have had issues with them losing connection and lagging when they're not directly connected. The screw mounting on the top near the triggers are pretty weak well and the plastic tends to snap... So I would say they are a flawed design.. the solution is to use a Pro Controller as that is a perfect thing, but not all games suit that.

Maybe pick one up cheap in the future!

I have and absolutely adore the Nintendo Switch. I love the games they ported from the Wii U, though I loved them on the Wii U already, so naturally I liked them the second time around :D. Highly recommend Captain Toad Treasure Tracker as a good game for short bursts and time wasting, it's such a fun little puzzle/platformer! I also like games like Kirby Star Allies, Wonderful 101, Killer Queen Black, and a fair few more.

I almost bought one around Christmas with my staff discount at Tesco, but rumours about a revised version of the console seemed to be gaining traction so decided to hold off for the time being. It would have been a(nother) impulse buy anyway.. :lip_biting:

You're correct, Nintendo are reportedly working on an enhanced Switch which does 720p handheld and 4K docked..

But I wouldn't get too excited. I highly doubt this new device will output Native 4K. It's gotta be upscaled or checker-boarded or something.

So I would say if you wanna get one, and the price is right.. get one!
